Kathy was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where she now lives with her husband Glenn, three cats and two parrots.

Kathy's creative abilities emerged as a small child. As a young adult she attended Brown College where she received a degree in Advertising Design. Finding fine art more inspiring, she continued with classes at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, Atelier Studio Program of Fine Art and other programs. The Minneapolis Art Institute has been and continues to be an infinite source of inspiration..

Inspired by Bouguereau, Waterhouse, Payne, O'Keefe, Cezanne and others, Kathy's artistic style, although still evolving, portrays a passion for color and shape to portray the mysterious beauty of the spirit of earthly life forms - whether that be a place in nature, a person, object or abstract representation..
